Background
Lotus Cars was founded in 1948 by Colin Chapman, revolutionizing performance with lightweight design and aerodynamics. Dominating Formula 1 with seven Constructors' Championships, Lotus also produced icons like the Seven, Esprit, and Elise. Now, under Geely (since 2017), Lotus is evolving into an electric performance brand with models like the Eletre.
Why ELETRE
Car like Eletre has such a strong personality, and so should their HMI.
Direction
ELETRE's design is inspired by the multifaceted nature of luxury lifestyles, blending elements of timeless artistry, vintage racing heritage, and cyberpunk aesthetics. Beyond satisfying the users' saftey needs, ELETRE should be a mixture of unforgetable, bold personality.
Exploration
As I look back after a year, I start to think outside of the screen I designed, if this whole system exists, how would it interacts with all the other functions?
Reach the top of the pyramid
To build the delightful experience, the connection between the driver and the interaction needs to be more than functional. As showing in the new concept, I wanted to show ELETRE can also be a community for car owners to social, a peaceful space to rest, and more.
